Happy Holidays and Cover Reveal!

Hey Friends!

Hope your holidays are going great. Since it's the season, I've got a surprise for you. I've been working on a new series due out in January 2013 (specific date TBA) and I'm very excited to display the cover for book one, The Twelfth Keeper. Hope you love the cover as much as I do!

Cover Design by the awesome Sybille Sterk

When sixteen-year-old Kennedy Mitchell is proclaimed the world’s last keeper, she thinks it’s a cruel joke. Come on- her? Impossible. She’s no warrior. She isn’t wise beyond her years, or more importantly, capable of keeping Earth safe.

Except...no one will listen. And since all evidence says otherwise, the job is hers whether she likes it or not.

During the highly demanding training regime that follows, Kennedy struggles to fit in with Earth’s renowned protectors. Especially Phoenix Jorgensen, who openly despises her. Problem is, he may be the only one she can trust. The keepers have big secrets surrounding them. Secrets Kennedy isn’t comfortable knowing, much less being apart of. With Phoenix’s help, she’ll have to find a way out.

Either that, or die trying.

Things that Inspire Me

Hola Amigos!

So the past few days I've had trouble writing. I don't know if it's lack of motivation or  laziness or if I simply don't know how to put the next part of my story into words. (Side note: To make things worse, my dog keeps sitting on my laptop, demanding my attention. And when I don't give it to him, he growls. He's kind of a jerk.)

So anyway, I decided to do this post for a little bit of inspiration. And you remember how I love lists, right? So I'll call this list "Five Things that Inspire Me." Hope you enjoy, and maybe receive some inspiration, too :)

Five Things that Inspire Me:

The Counte of Monte Cristo (movie)

I adore this movie. It has everything the perfect story should: Adventure, Romance, Treasure...best of all Revenge. And it even boasts a happy ending. I'm big on happy endings. They don't always happen in life, and so it feels really good when they happen in movies.

The Ocean

If you've read my books, you'll know the ocean always plays a small part in them. Is there anything better than the sound of lulling waves crashing against the shore? Speaking of that, I don't get it when people wear headphones at the beach. I mean, I love music just as much as the next person (see number 3 on my list ) but who wants to tune out one of the most relaxing sounds on earth? Not me, that's for sure. Anyway, I think the ocean inspires me because it's this huge, vast mysterious thing. And when I look at it, I remember how small I am, and it teaches me a little humility.

Ne-yo

I love listening to music. Especially when I write. In fact, the basis of Wanderlove came from a song. I chose Ne-yo not only because of his music, but because of how talented a song writer he is. He's written songs I had no idea came from him- and sung by female artists. As a girl, it's crazy how much I can relate to some of his lyrics.

Disney Fairytales

I know, I know. Disney princes are the sole reason us girls grow up to resent the fact that real life men don't actually ride up on white horses to to save the girl. That being said, the disney fairytales do make for great stories. And let's be honest, Belle was the best princess by far. ;)

Aiports

Yep, I threw a weird one in there to make you scratch your head. And sigh...I really do love them. There is something about the energy, about going places and the excitement of that. If you look around at the drop off, you might find a couple kissing goodbye as if they'll never see each other again--- or you might see them reuniting as if they've been apart forever. Once I saw a golden retriever reunite with his owner and it was one of the best things ever! The dog ran sooo fast, and then jumped up into his owner's arms. And this was no small poochie. He had to be at least 50 pounds. And the best part was, the owner looked just as happy to see his dog. Anyway, airports always make me look around and look at people, wondering what their "story" might be.

Update

Hey friends!

First off, my respectful wishes goes out to those who lost anyone during the 9/11 attacks.

So it's been a while since I last blogged, but I've been crazy busy lately. For one, I moved back from Nashville to Orlando. And it.is.soooo.nice. to be home. I discovered I'm definitely a flatlander. Yep, sure am. That particular discovery came hand in hand with another one- my fear of heights. I hadn't realized how terrified I was of them until I drove in the mountains. So yes, sigh of relief, back on flatter lands. :) This makes me happy.

Aside from the move, I've been working on a new book. One of the questions I get from readers a lot is: Will there be another book in the Wanderlove Saga? I'd like to answer that now for anyone who is wondering.

The answer is yes. There will be at least one more book in the saga.

But not right now.

Right now, I'm working on a new series that I've had in my head for over ten years. It just haaaas to come out. I'm about half way through it, and I'm agonizing over every little thing, hoping to get it down on paper the same way I see it in my head. I'm so excited for you to meet these characters and enter their world, and it's literally killing me not to spit it out all into one big mess of words-- which wouldn't be pretty. Or a good book, for that matter. I will tell you this though: It's a YA Sci-Fi/ Fantasy. I would tell you the name too, but the one I came up with doesn't feel right. So I might change it.

Hope to tell you guys more soon ;) Take care.

XOXO,

Belle

Foretell is on Sale!

Hey friends!

Amazon was about to give me a heart attack. I had soooo many difficulties getting this book online. But it is finally available and I'm very proud and excited to share it with you!

I didn't include a forward in the book. I'd like to do so here.

To My Readers,

Foretell is for you. Couldn't have done it without you-- that's the truth. When I wrote Wanderlove, I was extremely shy about my writing and didn't have much faith in myself. But somehow along the way, after reading all your comments, emails and praise (whether it be good or bad) I became more confident. So thank you, thank you, thank you. A million times thank you.

If you go back to one of my very first blog posts (here) I talked about being a closet writer. Writing is so exposing, but not always in a bad way. Every time I write, I share a little piece of my heart.  Don't roll your eyes at my cheesiness! Because I mean it :) The point I was getting at was that facing my fears was worth it. Even if I touched someone in a small way, such as entertaining them for the evening-- I'll know that I did that. And it means more to me than you could ever imagine.

I hope you all enjoy Rex and Essie's story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Their story truly is for you.

Love,

Belle

PS: Forgot to mention-- you can now purchase Foretell from Amazon HERE!

Print copies should be available soon :)

The eventual release of Foretell...

Hey friends,

It's 5:49 am where I'm at. Over the last 48 hours, I've been trying to get Foretell online for you guys, but with some great difficulties.

Technically, Foretell is available for sale. But you'll see all of Wanderlove's reviews showing beneath it on the Amazon page- Weird, right? I'm hoping they get it fixed soon. I promise to keep you updated and as soon as I have a link, I'll pass it on.

Changes

Hey friends!

If you've passed by my blog before you may notice some changes have been brewing. One of things I would like to point out is that Foretell has its very own page (see above). This is all very exciting for me because I made a playlist to go along with the book. I know, I know. It's just a playlist, but I adore music. Plus, I wanted you all to hear what I was listening to while working on Foretell. My favorite artist on this list is Ed Sheeran. I discovered one of his songs while watching The Vampire Diaries and have been a fan of his music ever since. Speaking of TVD, did you guys see the finale?? One word to sum it up: CRAZY.

So anyway, back to the subject at hand. I have another surprise for you guys too. By clicking on Foretell's page, you'll be able to sneak a peek at an excerpt. Let me know what you think! I love all your comments!

I hope you enjoy the music and the book. It will officially be released on Amazon June 24, 2012.

Foretell's Release

Hey friends!

Just wanted to let you guys know Foretell's release date is scheduled for June 24, 2012. I know it has taken much longer than expected and I'm truly sorry for making you wait so long. This story meant a lot to me and I wanted to tell it exactly how I pictured it. Now that Foretell is finally edited and finished, I can hardly wait to share it with you!

In a few days I will also post an excerpt, so look out for that. I'm currently in the middle of moving to Tennessee so I won't have internet for a few days, but as soon as I do I will give you guys an update.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that my readers have been so awesome. Every comment I receive from one of you on here motivates me and reminds me why I love this so much. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Foretell's Cover!

If you could provide anyone with the path to their deepest, darkest desires, would you?

Estelle Spencer has no choice.

With just a simple touch of her hand, wishes and dreams are instantly fulfilled. Her voice speaks of its own accord, lighting the way to good fortune.

But not everyone’s fortunes are desirable.

For most of her life Estelle hides in fear, living as a recluse in her sister’s shadow. Until the day comes when her existence is remembered.

Forced into running, Estelle meets Rex, a Romanian gypsy, and the only person who can help her hide. Together they search for a way to end the curse that controls Estelle’s life.

Before she destroys the world.

Coming June 2012!

Hello friends!

I just wanted to announce that I sent Foretell's book cover over to the wonderful Celeste at The Book Hookup. They will be revealing the cover on May 4th. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think! I'm super excited about this cover because I believe it encompasses the heart of the story.

I'm thinking there is a definite giveaway on the horizon. So keep a look out for it ;)

constant state of euphoria

So Amazon.com has been telling me for the past few weeks that Wanderlove is listed in the top thousand in the entire kindle store.

I can't stop smiling about this!

That's pretty freaking amazing. Currently, it's number 782! I was super excited, so of course I had to take a screen shot.

I think I'm mostly in shock over how many people exist in this world. And some of those people buy my book. And on top of that- some of them enjoy it.

This makes me very, very happy.

And I just want to thank the all people who have shown Wanderlove some love. :)

So thank you.

Also, I just wanted you all to know that the cover of Foretell will be revealed to you very soon! So stay tuned...(Not sure if "stay tuned" is the correct lingo for a website, but I'm sure all you smart people get what I mean).

holy crappola!

Hey friends,

I've been getting feedback from customers that own the new Kindle Fire (Side note: I'm jealous of all of you- my kindle is ancient) saying that the left hand side of the page is cut off. First off, I haven't heard of this happening before and I am so very sorry! Secondly, I've contacted Amazon to make them aware of the problem, then re-uploaded Wanderlove, making sure the margins were accurate. Amazon contacted me back and told me that everything looks fine. If this has happened to you, please contact Amazon to let them know. They will refund your money or let you re-download the book. I'm not sure what went wrong and I can't personally view the Fire version, but from what Amazon has told me, the issue has been fixed.

Secondly, I just wanted to let you all know I'm still hard at work finishing up Foretell. The cover is gorgeous too and I will post it as soon as I'm able to. I've enjoyed reading all of your comments/feedback about Wanderlove and I can't wait to share the next book in this series.

xoxo

2012 aspirations

So I've decided to make a list (because I love lists) of my 2012 "literary" resolutions. Its kind of late, being that we're a week into January. Better late than never though. Here it is:

Publish on itunes

This one is in the works because I've just converted to apple anyway. Apple computer makers = geniuses.

Write and publish three more books.

I know it's a lofty goal, but it will happen!

Learn to make my own book covers.

This just sounds fun to me. I love art.

Read 50 books.

For some of you, that's an easy goal. And yes, you're amazing. But I've got to have some time for writing.

Be more confident.

This one is extremely important. My self-doubt gets in the way all of the time.

Write the most incredible love story of all time.

Okay so this is more of a "life long" goal. However, it is still something I'm striving for each year.

So that's it for me. If I can achieve those things in 2012, I will be pretty ecstatic. So what are your goals this year?
